How Can I Help?

The chart below shows the volunteer opportunities available this season.  Each family must perform one, in addition to working at least two shifts in the Snack Shack.

During the online registration process, you will be prompted to select three volunteer roles.  The League will not expect you to perform all three roles (unless you really want to); we just want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate. 

You will be able to select a Coach role during registration, but not a Team Parent role.  There is never a shortage of team parent volunteers, so the League leaves it to the Coach to select one.  If you end up as a Coach or Team Parent, you will not be expected to perform any of the roles listed below, though you are welcome to do so.

Help keep the League operating efficiently. Currently looking for Player Agents, Umpire-in-Chief, Division Commissioners, and Marketing volunteers.

 Field Clean Up All Season10After the game, the Field Clean Up volunteer will drag the field, rake the pitcher's mound, cover home plate and the pitcher's mound, and put the bases away after the final game of the day or evening.

Set up field prior to games at Wilson Park. Set up includes dragging, watering and lining fields and putting bases out.

Historian

Organize League paperwork, including official Little League documentation and player records. Likely to include scanning and shared folder set-up, as well as binder assembly. Can be done from your living room.

Photographer

Photographer for each division. Responsible for taking photographs of all teams for use in yearbook and at Snack Shack for promotional purposes

Coordinate with division photographers, prepare communications for League re schedule and pick up.

Help at In-Person Registration. Answer questions about the season, review verification paperwork for new players, have parents sign Liability Waivers.

Scan documentation and store online; verify all documentation turned in. Coordinate distribution to other Board members, such as Player Agents and Safety Officer.

Scoreboard Operator March – July 10Wilson Park, Fields 1 and 2, Minors and Majors Divisions. The home team is responsible for staffing the scoreboard. There is a scoreboard for each of Field 1 and Field 2 at Wilson Park, but none of the other fields has a scoreboard.
Scorekeeper March -- July10For Minors, Majors, and Juniors Divisions. The Scorekeeper can use a book or GameChanger to keep score. Both teams generally keep score, but the home team is the official scorekeeper. Click here for instructions.

Shop to replenish food and supplies in Snack Shack.

Umpires

Training available. Youth umpires must be at least 12 years old and have strong knowledge of baseball rules. Umpires can officiate as many games as they like; looking for a minimum commitment of two games.

Keep volunteers engaged and active. Email volunteers to remind them of their upcoming event or shift (e.g., email Snack Shack volunteers to remind them of their shift or email the field maintenance folks to remind them to set up the field on a particular day).

Yearbook Coordinator

Coordinate creation of League yearbook. Work with division photographers to collect photos.
